SM Seaside Cebu Arena

SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM Prime) developed the SM Seaside Cebu Arena as a major addition to Cebu’s sports and entertainment scene. Initially scheduled to open in June 2026, the arena is designed to become the largest of its kind and the first purpose-built multipurpose indoor arena in the Province of Cebu.

The arena is located within South Road Property, Cebu City, an integrated development by SM Prime in Cebu. It occupies a building footprint of approximately 1.6 hectares, with a total gross floor area of around 7.4 hectares.

With a seating capacity of more than 25,000 guests, the venue is designed to host large-scale concerts, sporting competitions, family shows, and corporate events. Its facilities include multi-level spectator areas, professional-grade sports and entertainment systems, corporate suites, VIP lounges, and a variety of food and beverage options.

The arena is also connected to SMX Convention Center Cebu and SM Seaside City Cebu through a SkyBridge, providing visitors with convenient access to nearby shopping, convention, and lifestyle destinations.

Even before its opening, SM Prime reported discussions with concert promoters, sports federations, family entertainment producers, and corporate event organizers, reflecting early interest in using the venue for future events.

According to SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim, the project aims to strengthen the Visayas as a destination for international events, domestic tourism, and long-term investment. The arena is also expected to make major concerts and live entertainment more accessible to Cebuanos, reducing the need to travel to Manila to see large-scale performances.

The development builds on SM Prime’s experience operating the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Metro Manila, which hosted its first public event in 2012 with Lady Gaga’s two-night Born This Way Ball concert. Since then, the Manila venue has welcomed major sporting competitions, including the NBA Global Games, the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and the FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championships, along with performances by internationally recognized artists.

With its large capacity and modern facilities, SM Seaside Cebu Arena is set to become a key venue for concerts, sports, and major public events. It adds another destination to Explore Cebu for locals and visitors looking to discover more of the city.
