The good news is, Pag-IBIG approved online filing of loans, including Calamity Loans, amidst the enhanced community quarantine due to COVID-19. According to Proclamation 929, the state of calamity will last for six months unless earlier lifted or extended by the President. This sounds too long right? But until Philippines will be able to flatten the curve of COVID-19, it's best to take our part and stay home.

What is PAG-IBIG Calamity Loan?

The Pag-IBIG Fund Calamity Loan is a cash loan facility to assist Pag-IBIG Fund members who reside in areas declared under a state of calamity and are affected by such disasters. The loan seeks to provide immediate financial assistance to help members recover from the effects of such calamity. It comes at a low interest rate of 5.95% per annum. The loan is payable within 24 months and has a deferred first payment. 

Who can apply for a Pag-IBIG Fund Calamity Loan?

  • must be an active PAG-IBIG member.
  • have at least twenty-four (24) monthly membership savings and sufficient proof of income to qualify
  • if you have an existing Pag-IBIG Fund Housing Loan, MPL, and/or Calamity Loan, your payments must be updated for you to qualify.

How to Apply Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan Online?

1. Fill out the Fillable Multi-Purpose Loan  (MPL) Form and Calamity Loan Application Form.

2. Save the filled-out form as PDF file. Signatures are not required for those who are filling out their forms online. This is an alternative process for those who don't have access to printers. Those with a printer will have to sign the form, scan or take a photo of the filled out application forms and other requirements. For those who are filling out the form online, make sure you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader so you can fill out the forms digitally.

3. Send the PDF file via email to your company HR, authorized company representative, Fund Coordinator or if you, if you are a voluntary PAG-IBIG member along with (1) valid ID and the front and back images of your Loyalty Card Plus, or Landbank, UCPB, or DBP cash card. For first-time borrowers with no Loyalty Card Plus, Landbank, or DBP Cashcard will be advised further on how to receive their loans best.

The company HR, authorized representative, or Fund Coordinator shall email the following to the Pag-IBIG Fund email address designated for your area.  Here’s the list of email addresses where you can send your application requirements based on your office address.

How much can you borrow?

  • Qualified applicants can borrow up to 80% of their total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings
  • It consists of their monthly contributions, their employer’s contributions, and accumulated dividends earned.
  • If you have an outstanding Multi-Purpose and/or Calamity Loan, the amount of loan you will receive is “the difference between the 80% of your total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings and the outstanding balance of your loans.”

What is the deadline for the application?

  • Within 90 days from the declaration of a state of calamity.

How long is the processing period of the application after submission?

  • PAG-IBIG is aiming to assist pag ibig fund calamity loan applications within 3 to 7 working days from the receipt of the application until the release of the calamity loan proceeds according to Pag-IBIG vice president Kalin Franco-Garcia.

How can you pay and at what interest rate?

  • Loan is payable within 24 months and comes with the initial payment due on the 3rd month after the loan release.

How will I know if my loan has been approved?

According to Pag-IBIG, member would receive a text message that will confirm the loan approval and crediting in the Loyalty Card Plus, LandBank, or DBP Cashcard. In case you don't have the Loyalty Card Plus, Landbank, or DBP Cashcard, you will be advised further on how you can get your loan.

Other Requirements Might be Needed:

  •  Photocopy of at least one (1) valid ID
  •  Proof of Income (Formally-employed)
  •  The “Certificate of Monthly Net Income” portion at the back of the application form must be accomplished by the employer or submit photocopy of latest payslip duly authenticated by company’s authorized representative.
  •  Proof of Income (Self-Employed or Individual Payors)
  •  Photocopy of any of the following:
  •  Business/Mayor’s Permit;
  •  Commission Vouchers;
  •  Other valid proof of income.
  • For releasing of loan proceeds thru Payroll Account/Disbursement Card, submit photocopy of the Payroll Account/Disbursement Card.
  •  For application thru employer, the photocopy of Payroll Account/Disbursement Card shall be duly certified by the employer.
  • For individual application, the Payroll Account/Disbursement Card shall be presented for authentication.
